Trussville Springs flows on despite housing slump
Birmingham Business Journal – by Lauren B. Cooper Staff
The developer of Trussville Springs is moving forward with the first phase of the new development, despite the slowdown in the home building and real estate markets.
Barry Stalnaker, with developer Hearthstone Properties LLC, said the first four lots have sold and homes are currently under construction, while the first building of town home units is nearing completion.
Overall, plans call for 586 homes to be built on 168 acres bordered by the Cahaba River in the middle of Trussville. The project was first announced in 2005.
My comments referred to 8 months of new housing inventory in the area and price range and 15 months of inventory for used housing in the same area and price range. The new housing will increasingly impacted by the increase in used supply as more people run into the effects of the current economic problems.
It does look like a nice development!
